We had the pleasure to know Baha, a very nice educator, careful with the children’s needs and always able to be a point of reference. As a member of the educational equipe of Vento di Terra, Baha took part in the Peace Camp in Italy in 2007, meeting many people and municipalities forming our network.

Baha Nahabte was killed on the night of May 2nd, riddled with 8 shots by unknown people. The act took place in a suburban street of the Shu’fat refugee camp in East Jerusalem, where he was born and had spent his life. The motives of the crime are unknown.
After the experience with us we know Baha went on operating as a humanitarian aid worker. We knew him as a man of peace and it is difficult to think about possible enemies. Our sorrow for his death merges with that of the camp, where we have been operating for many years and to which we’ll be attached forever.

Our thoughts are for his brother Alaa, another member of our equipe, his family and his parents, whom we will always remember with great affection for their warm hospitality and humanity.
