WHO WE ARE

VdT ngo, founded in 2006, is a combination of many different skills and professions in the fields of education, training and international cooperation. The work group first met in 2003, thanks to their experience in the Palestinian refugee camps. VdT promotes a horizontal cooperation model. The main principles which guide its action are: the importance of valuing differences, involvement of local communities, and reciprocity. It also promotes education for multiculturalism and peace in Italy and abroad. It works with networking and participatory project design by actively involving all its partners, target groups and the community at large. VdT's projects are based on the creation of active, broad-based local networks, both in Italy and abroad. Humanitarian associations, schools, universities social and education-oriented agencies, religious communities, and local administrations are especially involved. Participants are given the opportunity to become actors in the process, and come together and share by exchanging experiences and methodologies.

VdT actively promotes initiatives in the following areas:

Socio-Educational Sector: Implementation of services especially aimed at children and adolescents and managed by local professional teams;

Support for Grassroots Entrepreneurs: Development of handcraft trades and of local grassroots cooperation in cooperation with the Fair Trade network;

Education: Support, development and strengthening of basic education facilities;

Training: Training and supervision, with an emphasis on socio-educational services for children and adolescents and on the development of managerial skills for local associations;

Humanitarian Emergency Aid: Immediate support intervention in communities hit by natural disasters or involved in armed conflict;

Community Development: Support for local associations, strengthening of democratic processes and promotion of community resources;

Healthcare: Training for Palestinian medical personnel (doctors and nurses), support for local facilities, treatment in Italy for cases that are not curable on site, and social-health prevention activities.

Bio Architecture: projects for the construction of environmentally sustainable buildings that can reconcile environment and human activities with the support of the group Ar. Co.
